Three (3) Years Later...Reach Out with Web 2.0 and Social Media

There is always something new out of a learning experience. This statement has been proved to be true during the past three days at Bindura University of Science Education in Zimbabwe, where I am attending the Web 2.0 and Social Media Learning Opportunity hosted by the University and the Technical Centre for Rural and Agricultural Cooperation (ACP EU-CTA). The Learning Opportunity runs from 16-20 June 2014. It is important to state the fact that previously I attended the Regional Web 2.0 and Social Media Training in Accra, Ghana in March 2011. I truly benefited from the international experience, interaction, and exposure with the world's change agents and renowned trainers, facilitators, and institutions. I recognise the fact that I fell short of the local experience in social medial learning and saw the 2014 Web 2.0 and Social Media Learning Opportunity as a blending experience. It has also been an opportunity to reach out to practitioners, researchers, and marketers with interests in agriculture, library sciences, and knowledge management. One of my objectives when using social media is to enhance the quality of discussion and debate on issues that matter to the structure and function of society, enhance the quality of life, and promote the professional application of knowledge (indigenous, scientific, lifelong, etc.). ...Lastly, perhaps the foundation of the one's contribution to the society should be measured and evaluated on the basis of one's trueness to education, roots, and value system.
